IIT marks a significant milestone with the inauguration of the IIT Galle regional centre

The Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT), the pioneer in private education since 1990, celebrated the grand opening of its IIT Galle regional centre at No. 36 Colombo Road, Kaluwella, Galle on the 21st of September 2023. The inauguration ceremony began with religious rites and observances. The esteemed Chief Guest, Honorable Governor of the Southern Province, Mr. Willie Gamage, and the Guest of Honour, Dr. Chitral Abawattha, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ruhuna, graced the occasion with their presence. IIT’s initial focus is on launching the Foundation Certification in Higher Education in Business and IT, with plans to introduce degree and master’s programmes in the future. The first group of students enrolled at the IIT Galle regional centre attended the event and participated in their orientation programme.
