In response to an invitation from the Zonal Education Office, Matara, the Digital and Distance Learning Department (DDL) of Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) had the privilege of conducting a two-day IoT seminar for students in the Matara Education Zone. The sessions, designed to deepen students’ understanding of the Internet of Things (IoT) and its applications, were held at two prominent schools in the region.
Day 01 : (29 August 2024)
Location – Sri Sumangala Balika Vidyalaya, Weligama
Participation : With over 70 students

Day 02 : (30 August 2024)
Location – St. Servatius’ College, Matara
Participation : With over 200 students
Rahula Vidyalaya, Sujatha Balika Vidyalaya, St. Servatius’ College, St. Thomas’ College, St. Thomas’ Girls High School, Pamburana Shariputhra Vidyalaya, Matara Janadhipathi Vidyalaya, Mahamaya Balika Vidyalaya, Mahanama College, Matara Central College
Both sessions had a great turnout and sparked enthusiasm, with students fully engaged in practical IoT activities. The seminars provided key insights into emerging technologies and their future influence.
